Critical Stages presents "The Pitch" by Peter Houghton
The Pitch is a hilarious satire about the trials and tribulations of trying to crack the big time in Hollywood.
A Who's Who production.
The Pitch is set in the very humble apartment of aspiring screenwriter Walter Weinerman just before he is about to sell his screenplay to an all powerful
Hollywood film industry panel.
We watch as Walter desperately practices pitching his film concept. It's his one shot at the big time and there's a lot at stake. It's a chance for immortality. It's a
chance to prove to the world that he's got what it takes and maybe it's a chance to win back his girlfriend who dumped him.
Walter's script is an action, mystery, revenge, loser-makes-good, romance film set in way too many exotic locations. It's a classic tale of love, war, sniping, plane
crashes, exotic accents and plenty of meaningful close ups.
Walter's film pitch is a hilarious panic stricken desperate effort, that involves him demonstrating all the roles that he hopes will be played by Hollywood's A-list
actors, including a clenched-teeth Clint Eastwood, a debonair Sir Anthony Hopkins and a scintillating Catherine Zeta Jones.
Peter Houghton's The Pitch is one hilarious antidote for the many clichéd and over done Hollywood blockbusters that we are all familiar with.
