The Jungle Book: A Musical Tale

A Production by Christine Harris & HIT Productions Australia’s Premier Theatre Touring Company In Association with Glenn Elston

HIT Productions will bring to life The Jungle Book - A Musical Tale, with Mowgli now in his early twenties, returning to the jungle to see Baloo and Bagheera. Narrated by Baloo, the songs reflect Mowgli's time growing up in the jungle.

The Jungle Book – A Musical Tale is a new and original Australian production inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s classic adventure story of a small boy (Mowgli), who was found and raised by wolves in the jungles of India. This concert style, three character touring production begins a new chapter in the Jungle Book stories as Mowgli, now in his early twenties, returns to the edge of the jungle to meet his best friend Baloo the bear. Together they recount the events and characters that surrounded Mowgli growing up in the jungle – his mentor Bagheera the black panther, Kaa the python snake, Hathi the elephant, the monkey people who stole him and Shere Khan the tiger who was obsessed with removing him from the jungle. Each story is told in song with accompanying video projection representing the characters. When they meet, little does Mowgli know that Baloo has decided to leave the jungle and move to the city to become a Bear Star and little does Baloo know that Mowgli would prefer to leave the city and return to the jungle. Aimed at a primary school audience, who will delight when Mowgli and Baloo invite them to participate in some jungle antics. Come and join in the rumble in the jungle.
