SheppARTon Festival: Inspired
Now in its 14th year, the 2010 Shepparton Festival will run from Thursday 4 March – Sunday 14 March.
The 2010 festival theme will be ‘Inspired'. The Goulburn Valley has a rich and diverse community, renowned as an independent and culturally tolerant society. The Festival's Artistic Director, John Head believes the theme ‘Inspired' celebrates the "creative ingenuity of our community in negotiating and prospering during challenging times."
Highlights for the coming year will include an exclusive performance by Ryan Meeking and The Few accompanied by the Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra, Kate Vigo and The Underground Orchestra at the Connection, Little Big Shots Film Festival for Kids and Brazilian at Friars featuring Bossa Negra. Balloons over the Valley will also give Festival goers the opportunity to see the GV from the skies!
The Festival will also showcase the all new and inspiring Jazz in the Orchard with performances from Yvette Johansson and The Syncopators. Art on a Plate is also set to entice audiences with The Ages' Good Food Guide Young Chef of the Year Nick Poelaert preparing to delight the taste buds at Eastbank.
The favourites will again be back with the Twilight Festival including a Multicultural Village with stalls of cultural arts, crafts, food & wines and the Community Performance Inspired Earth with original music, percussion beats, a rock band, bamboo sculptures and dance moves will have you on your feet!
